iphone 6While the iPhone 5S is less than six months old, there’s been a lot of rumors about its replacement. And if previous versions are any indication, the replacement will be called the iPhone 6 – and it’s expected to be up to $100 more expensive than previous versions.

In the past, Apple has announced its newest versions of the iPhone around September or October; however, Apple will be releasing two different versions of the iPhone 6 – one in August and one in September. Here’s what you can expect:

  • A 4.7-inch screen version will be released in August.
  • A 5.5-inch or 5.6-inch screen version will be released in September.

Although we have a general timeline for the releases, it’s uncertain which markets will receive the iPhone 6 first. But we do know the iPhone 6 will compete with Android phones from HTC and Samsung – the iPhone’s larger screen size, which has been confirmed by individuals in the supply chain, appeals to consumer desires.

The Economic Daily News estimates approximately 80 million iPhone 6 devices will be produced in 2014. In fact, Pegatron, the company that produces some of Apple’s hardware, is hiring additional staff and opening a new factory to prepare for the iPhone 6; which should be in production between April and June 2014.

Unfortunately, Apple hasn’t released details or commented on the upcoming releases. But as soon as we learn more, we’ll keep you up to date about the features and capabilities of the iPhone 6!
